Where to start

One answer narrows the shelf: your monitor

Quandrel Graphics Store is a graphics card shop on Centum 1-ro in Haeundae-gu, Busan. We stock current NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 cards, AMD Radeon RX 9000 and RX 7000 models, and Intel Arc B-series boards, and we help walk-in buyers match a card to the display already sitting on their desk. If you are upgrading a desktop this month, start with your resolution. A 1080p 144Hz panel and a 4K 60Hz panel point to different cards, and buying above your display wastes money.

For 1440p gaming, a 12GB to 16GB card is the comfortable middle. If you plan to move to 4K later, look at VRAM and memory bandwidth before you look at clock speeds. Two questions cover most of it: what resolution and refresh rate does your monitor run, and how old is your power supply with what wattage printed on it? Answer those and the shortlist gets short.

Checklist before you travel

  • 01 Monitor resolution and refresh rate
  • 02 PSU wattage and the cables it provides
  • 03 Case clearance from rear bracket to front fan
  • 04 Roughly how long you keep a card

Bring those four numbers and the visit is short.

What we actually keep on the shelf

Our catalog centers on the cards people ask for at 1440p, and we do not stock every SKU at once. The strip below is the shelf as we hold it, not a promise list. Message us before you travel and we will tell you what is physically in the shop that day.

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 1440p
    12 GB 3-fan
  • AMD Radeon RX 9070 1440p
    16 GB 3-fan
  • AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 1440p value

VRAM: the number buyers regret ignoring

8GB cards still work at 1080p, but textures in recent titles push past that buffer at 1440p, and the drop shows up as stutter rather than a lower frame counter. 12GB is a reasonable floor for 1440p today. 16GB gives you room for texture packs and a longer useful life. It is the single most common mistake we see at the counter, which is why our buying guide spends a full chapter on it.

Custom coolers and your case

Two cards with the same GPU can run very differently. Larger heatsinks and three-fan designs stay quieter under load, but they need case clearance. Before you commit, measure the space from your case's rear bracket to the front fan or drive cage. If you bring the measurement, we can match a card to it on the spot.

Power supply and connectors

Newer cards expect more power and, in some cases, a 12VHPWR-style connector. Check your PSU wattage and the cables it provides before buying. If your power supply is older or under 650W, budget for an upgrade alongside the card. We can check compatibility from the model number on your PSU label.

  • 1080p today 8–12 GB
  • 1440p comfortable 12–16 GB
  • 4K headroom 16 GB+

Ranges are guidance, not a guarantee for every title.

The RX 7800 XT question

People ask whether a previous-generation Radeon is still worth buying. It often is. The RX 7800 XT has been a benchmark for 1440p value for a while, and when it appears at a discount or as leftover stock, the price-to-frame ratio can beat a newer card. The trade-off is driver features and ray tracing performance, where newer RDNA 4 cards pull ahead. If your budget is fixed, compare the discounted 7800 XT against the RX 9070 and decide what you value more.

Why the RTX 5070 kept coming up in 2026

Korean coverage reported the RTX 5070's local price around 1.1 million KRW in some listings after increases, and Danawa-based reporting showed it rose more modestly than the RTX 5090 over the same period. It is a 1440p-focused card with headroom for some 4K use, and DLSS with frame generation is part of why buyers accept the price. We cover its strengths and its limits on the dedicated page, including where the 12GB buffer starts to pinch.

South Korea's GPU market has been moving quickly. Coverage through 2026 tied RTX 50 price pressure partly to GDDR7 memory costs, with Samsung and SK Hynix named among the Korean firms in that memory supply chain. For buyers in Busan, that means a listed price can shift between visits, and it is worth checking stock before you make the trip to Haeundae. Read our RTX 5070 overview for the full picture.

What we are asked at the counter

  • Is a used RTX 30 or 40 series worth it?

The GeForce RTX 30 series is still a live option on the second-hand market, and it gets used as a fallback comparison whenever new cards climb in price. A used RTX 40-series card can also beat a new current-gen model on value if you accept no warranty and unknown history. We inspect used cards that pass through the shop and will say plainly when a used card is the better deal for your case.

  • Are Radeon RX 9000 cards actually available here?

Radeon RX 9000 cards appear in comparison shopping next to the RTX 50 lineup, and the honest answer about availability is that channel distribution varies. Some models arrive in quantity, others in waves. We track what actually reaches Busan rather than what is announced, and we will tell you when a card you want is hard to source here.

  • Is the Intel Arc B580 for me?

The Arc B580 is Intel's entry-level answer for buyers who want a new card without spending midrange money. It is relevant in budget comparisons against entry Radeon and GeForce cards, and driver maturity has improved since the first Arc generation. If you are building a first PC at 1080p, it belongs on your list. Come in and we will show you where it fits.

How pricing moves, and how to read it

GPU prices in Korea respond to memory costs, import conditions and retailer stock. GDDR7 pricing was repeatedly mentioned in reports about RTX 50 increases, and component-cost news is something Korean buyers now follow closely. Practically: check our current price rather than a launch-week number you remember. Prices are updated as stock changes, and the figure you saw online last month may not be the figure on the shelf today.

If a card is important to you, confirm before you travel. We answer stock questions by phone or message during opening hours and hold a card while you make the trip to Haeundae.

RTX 5070

12 GB · 3-fan

Strong DLSS and frame generation, and the safest bet if you want current drivers. The 12GB buffer is the one thing to watch as textures grow.

1440p, more VRAM

Radeon RX 9070

16 GB · 3-fan

Newer RDNA 4 ray tracing and 16GB of headroom. Strong when you keep cards for years, and it arrives in waves rather than every week.

1440p on a budget

Radeon RX 7800 XT

16 GB · 3-fan

Previous generation, still competitive on price-to-frame when it lands as leftover stock. Weaker ray tracing and older drivers are the trade.

Questions we answer at the counter

Short answers below. If your case is not here, call the shop during opening hours and ask directly.

  • Which GPU gives the best 1440p performance for the money in South Korea right now?

It depends on what is in stock. The RTX 5070 and RX 9070 are the current midrange picks, and a discounted RX 7800 XT can beat both on value when it is available. Ask us for today's stock and price.

  • Is 8GB VRAM enough?

At 1080p it is workable. At 1440p with modern textures it is tight and can cause stutter. 12GB is our floor for 1440p, and 16GB is safer long term.

  • Are Radeon RX 9000 cards actually available in Korea?

Distribution varies by model and arrives in waves. Some reach Busan in quantity and others are hard to source. Message us and we will tell you what we can get this week.

  • Does it make sense to buy a used RTX 40-series card instead of a new RTX 50?

Sometimes. A used card can win on value if you accept no warranty and unknown history. We will say so plainly when that is the better call for you.

  • Do you ship outside Busan?

We are a Busan shop and our focus is local pickup and in-person payment. Contact us with your location and we will tell you what we can arrange.
